After using other outfitters during our trips to the Adirondacks, we first met Rob and Anne at Raquette River Outfitters in 2007. From that very first adventure, when we returned our canoe at 11pm, they have been nothing less than accommodating on all of our trips. We have been using them ever since. Whether it be delivering a canoe to a put-in on time, to providing high quality equipment, to recommending interesting places to visit, they remain professional, reliable and most of all enthusiastic about paddling. Their passion for the sport shines through every aspect of their business which makes us proud to be ‘friends’ of Raquette River Outfiitters.Gary Mitchell
For my wife Barrie and myself, The Adirondacks, specifically the Western Adirondacks, the Lake Region, is the place of our dreams. Its wild, unspoiled yet accessible beauty calls us back year after year. From before we had our three children, and all through the years of raising them, our time on the lakes has energized and nourished all of us, sustaining us for the rest of our year, living in the big city which we love so well. Raquette River Outfitters is our base in the Adirondacks. Nobody knows the lakes as well as Rob Frenette and Anne Fleck, the delightful couple that own and operate RRO. They’ll tell you about every twist in the river, every widening in the lake, every carry, every campsite and every floating bog . They’ll help you plan the perfect route whether you want to really bust it, or prefer to find a base camp and relax, swim and take day trips. If there’s something you want to buy or rent, they have it. More than that, though, they extend real warmth and friendship and take all the time you need so that when you set out on your adventure, you’re comfortable and confident and when you return, you’re tired, happy and can’t wait for next summer. Barrie and I have been canoeing and camping in many places, but it’s been many years now since we decided that Anne, Rob and Raquette River Outfitters are who we “want to grow old with.” Jerry and Barrie Raik.Jerry and Barrie Raik
Our Boy Scout Troop was a Backpacking and hiking group up until a few years ago when we started to look into mixing it up. We wanted a canoe trip in the Adirondacks and I called Raquette River outfitters to get more information. With Anne’s help and patience we set up a trip for the ages. We have done the same trip several times now and it has become a highly requested trip from not only our scouts, but our adults as well. I highly recommend Raquette River Outfitters for all of your canoeing and kayaking adventures. Shawn Habecker Asst. Scoutmaster Boy Scout Troop 96 Palmyra, NYShawn Habecker
Anne & Robbie, I cannot thank you enough for the continued support you provide for our program, from help with route-planning and logistics to outfitting all of our groups with the best boats and equipment. Our leaders consistently relate how stellar it is to work with you and your staff, and your knowledge of the area is indispensible. Thanks for another great year!
